Soften into Bliss…
“Sonic Immersion is dedicated to the healing potential of sound. Using gongs, Tibetan bowls, bells, tinksha and mantra, we create a sonic environment that allows each person’s natural healing capacity to be given full expression. A gong meditation allows one to experience an ocean of sensation and follow the melodies of harmonics through the inner dimensions of your consciousness. The sonic vibrations stimulate and resonate all cells in the human body simultaneously toning down the sympathetic nervous and re-calibrating the parasympathetic nervous system.”

Soften into Bliss…
The Gong Tribe is dedicated to the healing potential of sound. Using gongs, Tibetan bowls, bells, tinksha and mantra, we create a sonic environment that allows each person’s natural healing capacity to be given full expression. We use the Earth, Moon, and Uranus Paiste gongs and Tibetan bowls resonating in Pythagorean tuning at precise 432Hz frequencies.

Sound immersion allows one to experience an ocean of sensation and follow the melodies of harmonics through the inner dimensions of your consciousness. The sonic vibrations stimulate and resonate all cells in the human body simultaneously toning down the sympathetic nervous and recalibrating the parasympathetic nervous system. Gongs are useful in resolving emotional and physical dissonance. Magic happens when there is no separation between the gong, the player and the listener. Gongs are instruments that mediate the form and formless, finite and infinite. Playing and listening to gongs is about spiritual, physical and emotional resolution. The Gong is a psycho-acoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness.

Danelle Drury

Danelle Drury

Instructor

Danelle has been doing yoga for about ten years. It started out as just a physical workout, to improve strength, balance, flexibility – – but almost without her noticing, it grew into a spiritual journey too, and she finds yoga permeating every aspect of life. It helps her be better version of herself while, at the same time, helping her discover and appreciate who that really is. She loves to share her knowledge, passion and skill with her students. She completed her training throughKC Fitness Link and has been teaching in various studios and businesses around Kansas City for the past four years. When she is not teaching yoga, she is an actress, admin assistant and an English tutor. She also sells and teaches about DoTerra Essential Oils.
Her favorite yoga quote: “All our bones, flesh, fibers, ligaments, joints, senses, mind and intelligence are harnessed. In this way, the practice of asana, performed with all elements of our being, awakens and sharpens intelligence, until it is integrated with our senses, our mind, our memory, our consciousness and our soul.”
She loves how yoga teaches us to be in the moment, day by day, accepting where we are just now and knowing that, “if you learn a lot of little things, one day you end up knowing a big thing.” B.K.S. Inyengar.

Kelly Cirone

Kelly Cirone

Instructor

Like any good gardener, Kelly is really a magical soul-tender. Her thoughtful classes are safe spaces for dynamic growth and deep healing.

Kelly is a 200-hour RYT with Yoga Alliance and has earned specialized teaching certifications in Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Advanced Sequencing, and Prenatal Yoga. Additionally she has completed teaching intensives with Dr Ray Long (Bandha Yoga), Rama Jyoti Vernon, Desiree Rumbaugh, and Max Strom. She is currently completing her second 200-hour teacher training with Gina Caputo’s Colorado School of Yoga.

Grace Duckworth

Grace Duckworth

Instructor

Yoga has transformed my life. I have gone from anxiety stricken and depressed (literally losing my hair) to having a deep appreciation for everything that is given to me in this life. In the past I was unhealthy – although to many others I appeared to be the spitting image of physical health – I overworked and deprived my body of true nutrition as I went back and forth with eating disorders and was cruel to my body. The path of yoga has helped me to love myself, honor my body and find joy in everything I do.
One of my proudest accomplishments was learning to truly listen to and understand my body. Once I began to approach health with a positive mindset rather than pushing myself past the limits of what healthy should be, positive changes began to happen within all other aspects of my life. Good choices turned into common sense. It was no longer difficult to understand what I needed to do in order to help myself physically, mentally and spiritually. I will forever be grateful to yoga and what it has done for me. That incredible change is what inspired me to help others make that same transformation within themselves. My journey to help spread knowledge and love begins on the mat within my classes and online at my website: www.fitbodyclearmind.com – Grace Duckworth.

Kristina Long

Kristina Long

Instructor

Kristina had been searching for a way to satisfy a genuine desire to help others for years. Knowing that health and wellness had always been an integral part of her life, she began her search for a career that matched her passion. Pursuing yoga in 2007 unexpectedly changed not only Kristina’s career, but her self awareness and presence within her relationships. That joy was something she decided she wanted to share. Like so many of us, only when you pause, does the next step in your journey fall in front of you. For Kristina, it was her love of health and wellness that presented her next step.

As a result, in 2009 Kristina completed Yoga instructor certification at KCFitnessLink which lead her to learn Thai Massage and in addition to these skills has been a full time licensed massage therapist since 2012. She brings a good vibe. Kristina is a mother of two wonderful kids, loves short runs, part-time photography and is basically obsessed with being outside when ever possible. Her big picture awareness of our world, her in depth knowledge of your body, and her genuine, confident presence in the studio is something we think you will love.

Rachel Meran

Rachel Meran

Instructor

Rachel discovered a love for yoga over a decade ago and, throughout the years she has allowed the practice to shape her in ways that have no comparison. During her classes, Rachel puts an emphasis on linking breath with motion as well as honoring personal limits. In her classes you will find challenge and acceptance for wherever you are in your practice. She believes yoga is a journey that involves many side roads, step backs and breakthroughs, but never has a clearly defined destination.

Danika Hanson

Danika Hanson

Instructor

Danika’s first yoga experience occurred at a Bikram studio in Colorado, but her passion for yoga grew here in Kansas City, specifically at Yoga Patch… no pun intended.
Initially her practice focused on the physical aspects of yoga asanas, but with more practice a deeper search for spirituality and serenity came. Danika has found an energetic appreciation for meditation and the benefits it brings to her life, on and off of, her yoga mat. Because of this, she likes to incorporate this in her yoga classes, wanting her students to find their own Inner Light. She hopes her students challenge themselves in their yoga practice while at the same time relax and have fun! Danika is grateful to be included in Kansas City’s beautiful yoga community.

Holly Hott

Holly Hott

Instructor

Holly believes everyone can benefit from yoga by expanding their conscious minds and opening their hearts. She views yoga as a journey to help one release layers of the ego to find a more authentic place internally and encourages students to discover more about the deeper layers of the self to initiate change, growth, and healing in one’s life. Her classes invite you to calm your mind, cultivate strength in your body, and bring awareness to each moment. From her own practice, she believes that through the healing and transformation that yoga provides, each student can and will experience the magical and beautiful nature of their true selves and come to know that it is found through love and peace. She strives to bring a sense of playfulness and stillness to her classes, and hopes to impart nuggets of yogic wisdom along the way. She is inspired by her teachers Christy Burnette, Emily Darling, and Victor Roberts.

“My intention is to create a healing, nurturing community where my students can find and maintain a peaceful mind, body, and spirit. Yoga has provided me with inner stillness to develop a deep connection to my truest self. My hope is that through teaching breath awareness and conscious intention weaved with yoga philosophy, my students will show up into the world with more awareness and living from their hearts a little more.”

Amy Rader

Amy Rader

Instructor

Amy Rader is a human, and she teaches yoga for humans – who are flawed, imperfect, messy creatures – and believes in embracing imperfections as a way to cultivate shared humanity and experience. She believes in the power of yoga as a tool for personal transformation – through yoga, Amy healed from over a decade of disordered eating, learned to manage her anxiety, and cultivated better relationships.
With a Master’s degree in Kinesiology and a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, Amy’s classes are a blend of anatomical precision and artistic expression. As a lifelong learner, Amy shares her personal observations and education with her class in order to spark a feeling of shared experience and community.
Amy founded Yoga for Humans, a community that showcases regular, every day people in yoga – faults and all. Find out more at www.yogaforhumans.com, and visit her personal page, www.amyisahuman.com, to explore her writing, philosophies, herd of domestic animals, and paintings.
Amy has been teaching yoga since 2007, and has studied extensively with Emily Darling, Christy Burnette, Max Strom, and Jamie Elmer. She has been a presenter at many national and regional fitness and recreation conferences.

Marjie Goodman

Marjie Goodman

Instructor

Marjie has been teaching multi-level yoga classes for about a decade and loves teaching hatha flow classes, focusing on linking the breath with the movement. She feels yoga is accessible to all who want to try it. It’s her belief there is always a modification to make a posture easier or more challenging.

Royal Scanlon

Royal Scanlon

Instructor

Royal has been a daily practitioner of t’ai chi for the past 28 years. He has been teaching steadily since the summer of 2006. His sincere desire as a teacher is that all who study with him will end up leading happier, healthier lives.

Laura Kinney

Laura Kinney

Instructor

Laura has been practicing yoga since 2006, and is a 200-HR Registered Yoga Teacher. Laura loves to practice yoga because linking breath and movement, and the physical challenge of the practice, makes her feel good, inside and out. She enjoys the time on the mat, but the best part is the feeling extends beyond the mat. With a consistent practice, Laura feels more open physically, and is better able to live from the heart and be more positive. As a yoga teacher, Laura hopes to bring this same feeling to her students, and to bring out love and light in each person and throughout the community.

Brandon Vogt

Brandon Vogt

Instructor

Brandon started practicing Yoga around 3 years ago. When he first started, it became very obvious that this was something that he should be doing as much as possible. Brandon just recently completed his 200 hour Yoga training in 2015 and started teaching right away. His philosophy when practicing and teaching is to be present and playful. “I find the more present I am in each pose, the more my body gets out of the pose”. ” I also try to maintain a playful attitude towards the practice. This allows me to accept where I am physically which creates space for growth.” Brandon teaches Yoga Basics and Mixed Level Flow classes. Brandon is also a musician and enjoys performing guitar pieces during Savasana for his classes.

Joanie Flanagan

Joanie Flanagan

Instructor

Joanie has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaching for the last 8 years. She believes that yoga has wide ranging benefits for all who come to it. Her teaching philosophy is based on meeting each student where they are on their path and allowing all students to feel comfortable and successful. Joanie’s favorite part of her own practice is her meditation and she incorporates that fully into her classes while keeping it light and fun.

Jenny Hellman

Jenny Hellman

Instructor

A mom of two who enjoys helping other moms discover the joy, and power of prenatal yoga.

Amanda Garner

Amanda Garner

Instructor

Amanda has been studying vinyasa, hatha, Iyengar, and kundalini for over 10 years. She gleans her insight from a personal yoga practice, her residential stay at the 3HO Foundation in Midtown, and various local yoga teachers. Amanda’s classes are community based – the young and young at heart are included, as are those that are well established on the wellness journey and those just beginning their wellness journey. Classes are friendly (and sometimes chatty) and place a big emphasis on breathing meditations, and movements that will make your body feel more comfortable, wherever you are! In her free time, Amanda enjoys gardening, farmers markets, finding the best cup of coffee, and exploring the city with her child.

Joe McClernon

Joe McClernon

Instructor

Joe has been practicing yoga since 2009, shortly after Yoga Patch opened. As with many devoted practitioners of yoga, the physical aspects of Yoga were the initial attraction. A lifelong exercise lover, it was apparent that as the years were piling up a change was needed in his approach to exercise. Once he became a regular in the Yoga Patch classes, he learned that there was so much more to Yoga. Yoga totally pulled together a lot of the “loose strings” of Joe’s life. Now the study of all aspects of Yoga is a passion for Joe and life has never been better! As a teacher, Joe’s main areas of interest are making Yoga available to people of all ages and fitness levels. So many people come to Yoga looking for something to help them on their life’s journey only to be put off by difficulty or embarrassment with the physical aspects of the practice. His goal is to make everyone comfortable in class and help them understand that the only “wrong way” to do a pose is one that is potentially harmful to the student. Everyone can find the right asanas for them and the right forms of those asanas.

Maria Murphy

Maria Murphy

Instructor

Maria, Studio Owner, had been practicing yoga for over 10 years when she felt a calling to teach in 2008 and then became certified 2009. She is so appreciative of her certificate for RYT 230 hours of teacher training in the practice of Iyengar and Restorative from The Yoga School of Therapeutics that made such a wonderful change in her life. Before becoming owner of the Yoga Patch in 2013, Maria taught Restorative, Hatha, Stress Relief, Vinyasa, and Kids Yoga at the Yoga Patch for 4 years and will always be grateful for the opportunities and relationships that Yoga Patch in Waldo has brought to her journey. She holds certificates in Yoga Fit Level One and Two, Prenatal/Postnatal, Kids Yoga, Reflexology and Meditation. She has participated in workshops targeting anatomy, neck and shoulders, the art of Svasana, and has had the pleasure of studying with Judith Lasater.. Although her certificates and workshops have targeted areas of teaching that have improved her professionally, Maria enjoys a blend of styles of Yoga that bring her closer to that better awareness and inner peace. It is her open mind and heart that allows her to hold such a peaceful temperament and gentle teaching style.

Maria is also a mother of five beautiful children…two of whom she was blessed to receive through adoption, two through natural childbirth, and one that involved surgery…ouch. When she is not teaching yoga, she is probably driving to and from practices, games, recitals, conferences, and nonstop errands. In her spare time, she is also a potter, artist, and Zumba lover. With so much going on, yoga is about the inner change and awareness for Maria. Maria has found that she must find the time to put everything else on hold, connect to herself and become more in tune with her body, mind, and spiritual being. The heightened awareness she experiences through Yoga practice is what continues to draw her to the Yoga mat. Her passion is to share that awareness with you.
